Project Overview
Project Title: Chunking Content: Microlearning Made Easy
Role: Instructional Designer, Learning Developer, Visual Designer
Tool Used: Articulate Rise 360
Target Audience: Learning Developers, Learning Designers
Timeframe: 3 weeks
Why?
The Challenge:
Many content creators produce overly long, unfocused materials that lead to learner disengagement and poor retention.
Participants need the practical skills to break down complex content into smaller, focused learning segments (chunks) to minimize cognitive overload.
The Goal:
The course solves the problem of information overload and low retention by teaching instructional designers and subject matter experts how to systematically structure complex content into high-impact, easy-to-digest microlearning chunks.
How?
Process & Strategy:
This microlearning solution was developed using the systematic ADDIE instructional design model. The model was developed to prioritize the reduction of cognitive overload and maximize learner retention by applying cognitive science principles (chunking).
